Inghams Distribution Centre VIC

Overview

Inghams is a large chicken and turkey meat and feed supplier, and with the business constantly growing, they needed a new distribution centre. Correct Safety was pleased to design and install a compliant roof access system for their new DC in Truganina, VIC.

Challenge

With the new distribution centre’s main roof spanning over 200m long and nearly 120m wide, a safe and compliant access system was needed for the roof and inside the ceiling area to ensure maintenance workers were not at risk of hazards.

Our valued client engaged us to design and construct safe access to:

• Cooling units in the ceiling area
• Gutters on the main roof and other roof areas containing equipment

Solution

Our user-friendly solution included:

• A 2-stage vertical caged ladder with midway landing platform and landing kit for access to the roof
• Guardrail and walkway system for safe access on the roof
• Step ladders for access in and out of the ceiling area
• Guardrail system to protect workers from fall edges inside the ceiling
• Fall arrest anchor points on the main and joining roofs for gutter access
